We would like to notify you of our latest updates on the outbreak of the coronavirus and the current status of Helka’s operations:
The majority of provinces have now resumed work; however, factories remain understaffed due to travel restrictions placed by government authorities.
Logistics services still face transportation challenges due to inter-province travel restrictions and labor shortages.
Currently, all Helka offices have re-opened except Tianjin due to restrictions by the local government authorities. For Tianjin, staff at these offices will continue to work from home with remote-access.
For the ports & terminal operation, basically, resumed to normal with the staffs on duty under the shift pattern. In general, most of the carriers and forwarders are all back to work or under shift pattern.
Regarding airfreight, we see space is getting tight and rates go up due to flights cancellation. A signal that some urgent cargos will be switched from ocean to air and expected the space will become an issue in March.
Regarding seafreight, carriers continue to add some ad hoc blank sailing in order to balance the demand and supply scenario.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide important updates as we receive them.
For any concerns or assistance, please contact your respective Helka representative.
We thank you for your support and understanding during this unusual period.
