So far 2007 has welcomed two new members into the Global Freight Group - one in Libya and the other in Turkey. Turkey's new member is a replacement for a recent departure, however Libya is a completely new territory for the GFG.
In early 2006, we welcomed a new member for Illinois, USA. Below we interview all three new members in reverse chronological order of their joining the GFG.
1. Hisar Lojistik Turizm Insaat Ve Dis Ticaret Ltd. Sti. - March 2007
2. Tegerhy International Shipping, Libya - January 2007
3. D. Kratt International Inc., Illinois, USA - May 2006
Hisar Lojistik Turizm Insaat Ve Dis Ticaret Ltd. Sti., Turkey
Hisar Lojistik Turizm win the award for the fastest successful application with the GFG. This is indicative of their enthusiasm to join the organisation and their efficiency in providing the necessary paperwork and payment.
Hisar have worked with USA Cargo Services in Atlanta for a number of years and were evidently waiting patiently for the opportunity to develop their interest further. Within a day of Turkey becoming a vacant territory, Hisar were put forward and discussions started. USA Cargo had no reservations in recommending their agent and indeed all the references sought and obtained for Hisar were equally positive. Representatives of both Motorol and Dogan TV Holding highly recommended Hisar.
Hisar have since upheld their good reputation with prompt communications and follow up actions.
The President, Mrs Yuksel Dikmen, Airfreight Manager Mr Hakan Ozgen and his wife, Ozden Ozgen will be attending the Atlanta conference, eager to introduce themselves to the members and start building up business and social relations. We look forward to meeting them.
Mr Hakan Ozgen offers his comments below:
1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

H - We have already been working with some of the GFG members, that's why we have chosen to join the group.
5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?
H - We have received excellent service from the GFG members and all our current customers have been very satisfied with the service.

H - I would recommend the GFG to all the other companies and customers that we are currently giving service in Turkey, considering that all the GFG members would benefit.
Tegerhy International Shipping, Libya
In January 2007 we welcomed Tegerhy into the GFG. Tegerhy are not only a new member but Libya is also a new territory for the Global Freight Group, increasing the coverage and partnership in Africa. A most welcome addition from one of the largest continents in the world.
Tegerhy applied swiftly and we received very good references from the three companies that we contacted. Mr Kolitha and Mr Khan of Tegerhy have shown their keen interest in the GFG, making the application procedure very smooth.
Mr Kolitha will be joining the GFG Atlanta conference, meeting members and building relations that we hope will be of benefit to all concerned.

D Kratt International, Inc., Illinois, USA
 |
| John Bentz and Dave Kratt of D Kratt International Inc, at the Cape Town conference in Fall 2006. |
Dave Kratt of Kratt International Inc, jumped into the group's Los Angeles conference in Spring 2006 with great enthusiasm, having joined the group very shortly beforehand and receiving little advanced notice. He immediately made friends and contacts amongst the membership and within weeks had secured business with several members.
Dave knows our previous Chicago member, Camelot, and so had a good idea of what the GFG could offer his company and in turn what his company could offer the GFG.
Since that time Dave and his colleague, John Bentz, have attended the Cape Town conference, further building upon their existing contacts.
We hope their GFG membership continues as strongly as it has started.
We also put the following questions to Dave Kratt and he had the follow comments to share...
1. How did you first hear about the GFG?
D - We were first approached by Richard Cope (of USA Cargo Services) about 2 months before the Los Angeles (Spring) meeting of 2006. With our hectic schedules, along with our total lack of knowlege of the GFG and quite a bit of skeptism of freight networks in general, we had originally told Richard that we were not interested. But Richard persevered and after 5-6 more telephone calls convinced us that we should meet the members before we decide. It is a decision that we have never regretted and we appreciate that 'stubborn Georgian' more and more as we are beginning to work with the GFG members.
2. What were your first impressions of the group?
D - I was surprised at the comraderie - and the true friendships that were evident immediately. I remember walking into the lobby in L.A. feeling a bit out of place, and as I watched the members greet one another I saw heartfelt hugs and even a few tears and I was amazed how at ease this made me feel. So I walked up and introduced myself and the members made me feel 'right at home' from the very beginning.
3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?
D - "I'm not $ure .... but I'll think of $omething!"
But seriously, we felt that this would give us the opportunity to immediately obtain a worldwide network of companies similar to ours that we could depend on to serve our clients with the same care and consideration that we have built our company upon.
4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?
D - We have only given one other network any serious consideration and found them to seem very cold and calculating. There was not a feeling of trust and it seemed like everybody was out for themselves and their own profits. We feel just the opposite from most of the GFG members. It seems like our success is important to them.
5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?
D - It has given us a true worldwide network of professionals that we know we can trust. This is essential in today's business climate where the large forwarders and 3PL's are offering a variety of services worldwide with consistancy in service and pricing.
6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?
D - Yes indeed.
7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?
D - I would definitely recommend the GFG to other companies . There are so many selling points and advantages to being a GFG member - but I think that a few of the more important ones are:
1) The opportunity to build relationships that can go beyond the business at hand. If you travel, it is such a good feeling to know that in most corners of the world you have someone to rely on whether you need directions, translations or someone to recommend a good restaurant.
2) Insurance on receivables from members - One of the hardest things that a business such as ours has to endure is the fact that we sometimes send an invoice to an office 3 thousand miles away to someone that we have never met and hope that we get paid. The GFG takes all of the guesswork out of this. I only wish that I had met you all sooner !
3) And finally , there is an awful lot of money to be made in our industry. I truly believe that by having the support of a network such as the GFG drastically increases the opportunity to prosper.
