GFG - Is exclusivity the winning factor?

The GFG's longstanding member for Turkey sadly announced their resignation from the organisation last month. However, it seems that other companies are waiting patiently to take up any opportunities within the Global Freight Group and within a few days discussions were being held to introduce a replacement agent. (Follow this link to read the new member interviews.)
Perhaps it is the territory exclusivity, offered by the Global Freight Group to its members, which proves to be the attraction.
Certainly there are many competing freight organisations both new and old but they do not, on the whole, offer exclusive territory rights. By joining these organisations companies will be only one agent of many in their country. Contrary to the quantity ethos, the Global Freight Group concentrates on quality and, in joining the GFG, members enjoy their own exclusive territory.
Many times each week the GFG administration has to turn away hopeful companies with the same answer 'sorry we already have a strong member in your country'.
However, those in the know, realise it is worth the wait, and upon hearing of an opening, quickly make their move and apply to fill that territory. Such as has happened in Turkey. An existing member offered a strong recommendation, and wasted no time in putting them forward for membership.
Of course, members must earn the honour of exclusivity and this is done by upholding certain criteria:
1.The member must attend all GFG meetings required by their membership status.
2.The member must stay current on all GFG invoices i.e. none unpaid over 90 days.
3.The member must have no offices outside their official location / territory.
4.The member must not be a member of another network.
5.The member must keep other GFG members satisfied with regard to volume and quality of work, to avoid having 5 GFG members seek another agent in their area.
These are the five reasons why the Global Freight Group can say 'sorry we already have a strong member in your country' - because they must be in order to uphold all the necessary criteria. Standards have to be met and kept... those who cannot, need not apply.
If you think your company reaches the necessary standards to meet the GFG criteria, visit our membership application page to see if your territory is open and enquire about how you could become a member - an exclusive member in your own territory.
"The Global Freight Group... it's not for every freight forwarder."
