Meachers Global Logistics is the GFG member for the United Kingdom

Meachers' Website

Meachers was recommended by the GFG's member for Georgia, USA (Imports), Lee Hardeman CB

1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

MGL: - We were informed about the GFG by one of our US members, Lee Hardiman with whom we had worked with extensively in the past. Once he mentioned the organisation and how useful and professional he found it and we did some investigations it was easy for us to make the decision to register our application.

2. What were your first impressions of the group?

MGL: - The first impressions of the group were that that they were geographically diverse with a very broad range of complimentary skill sets, which was exactly what we were looking for. The professional way that the administrative function and the group were constructed really gave us the confidence that we had joined the right group.

3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?

MGL: - The main motivation for us joining the group was to have the extensive geographic coverage with quality agents working with a common ethic.

4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?

MGL: - The primary reason was the personal recommendation of Lee Hardeman, we trust his professional judgement and he spoke very highly of the business ethic and administrative support for the group. I am pleased to confirm that we still believe we made the right decision joining such a progressive thinking, proactive group and I am sure that the company will continue to benefit as a direct consequence of our involvement with the GFG.

5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?

MGL: - Our company has benefited significantly from our involvement with the GFG. We can legitimately state that we have agent partners around the world that we know and trust. From a sales perspective being able to talk to potential clients with the knowledge that you are in the hands of other professional companies and in most cases personal friends allows us to be extremely confident in our ability to supply a quality service.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

MGL: - The membership fee, by the very definition of our ongoing support and involvement, is clearly value for money. At the end of the day we are a commercial entity and the fact that we have benefitted greatly from our involvement both in terms of our service offering and our financial performance justifies the membership fee.

7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?

MGL: - Yes, please see all of the above.

 logo-repremundo-main Repremundo Group Website

Map Cargo is the international cargo division of the Repremundo Group and was recommended by the GFG's member for Spain, Airpharm SA

1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

MC: - From our good and old friend Emili Ventura, from AIRPHARM.

2. What were your first impressions of the group?

MC: - Beyond being a network of freight forwarders, it is a family and group of friends doing business together; I could see a strong but not that big group providing good support.

3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?

MC: - The possibility to develop businesses with some locations in which we had no agents or not reliable agents; we have had the opportunity to cooperate with Airpharm around 10 years, a very professional company and also had the opportunity to do some business with Esse Emme before joining the group, by reference of Airpharm, and had very good support.

Our main interest always has been to provide good support to our partners around the globe; to have the opportunity to represent Colombia in a network of reliable and professional partners is very important for us as this is the way we want to work.

4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?

MC: - These are the main reasons:

(1)  This network has exclusivity per territories; for us it is very attractive to be the official partners for Colombia; it is also a challenge, as we need to provide a very high service level to all partners.

(2)  This network is not too big; when too many members, it is difficult to get in personal contact with all of them and we are looking for business development for mutual benefit.

(3)  Reasonable costs; in the past I have investigated some networks and their costs were really high so there was also the big concern about the return of the investment with real businesses

5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?

MC: - We got new reliable partners for key and regular traffics in our business, which has provided us reliable operations, good communication and effective joint efforts to attack the market.  In the case of Hong Kong, Helka has been a very good new option for our regular ocean operation to Colombia and now we are growing in this traffic; this is the most relevant case, however we have received very good support in some regular and spot operations from many other locations around the globe.

Very important for us is the confidence and reliability that we feel when dealing with other members.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

MC: - Yes, I am comfortable about this matter.

7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?

MC: - Yes, I would.  In fact, I have recommended to other friends.  I think the main selling point would be the 3 reasons I explained in 4 above.

TWT: - Have built up some agency relationship with the members to enlarge the worldwide network. We will work hard continuously , hopefully , All for One and One for All.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

Waterlink Website

Waterlink Pakistan (PVT) Ltd was recommended by the GFG's member for Sri Lanka, Freight Links

1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

WLP: - Mr. Niral of Freight Link had introduced GFG to us.

2. What were your first impressions of the group?

WLP: - The first impression was to have mutual business with group companies.

3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?

WLP: - The main motivation was to grow fruitful business with group companies.

4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?

WLP: - The difference as compare to other networks is Exclusive Representation in a country.

5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?

WLP: - Whenever we need an agent somewhere so our first preference is to contact GFG member over there, so fare we have consigned our freehand shipments from Pakistan to Air Cary Service (Argentina), Levaco (Belgium), Rutherford (Canada), Helka Group (China), TGF (France), Logistics Mover (Ghana), U Del Corona (Italy), Dac Trans (Panama), Heneways (South Africa), Jetivia (Switzerland), Airfarm (Uruguay), ARI (USA), Hamanaka (USA) Unfortunately so fare we have not achieved any mutual business through any of GFG member even our Nomination Desk has exchanged a good volume of Sales Leads with other members but the response is not good or beneficial how it should have been.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

WLP: - Yes it does BUT the BOD should think about fine/penalty for not attending annual conferences. Truly saying it is always difficult to have visa from Pakistan to USA & Europe even having previous visa. Once we spend times to pursue visa with respective consulate/embassy…..the consulate/embassy refuses or delays the visa……And finally GFG charges for not attending the conference.

7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?

WLP: - Exclusive membership in a country

Universal Logistic Solutions International Inc.
GFG member since May 2006

 Universal Go-Universal Website Logo ulsii

D Kratt Int’l, now Universal Logistic Solutions International Inc. is the GFG member for Illinois, USA

DKratt / Universal Website

Universal, originally as D Kratt Int'l, was researched and invited to apply by one of the GFG's Directors, the GFG's Georgia, USA, Export member, USA Cargo Services:

1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

DK/ULSI: - We were first approached by Richard Cope (of USA Cargo Services) about 2 months before the Los Angeles (Spring) meeting of 2006. With our hectic schedules, along with our total lack of knowlege of the GFG and quite a bit of skeptism of freight networks in general, we had originally told Richard that we were not interested. But Richard persevered and after 5-6 more telephone calls convinced us that we should meet the members before we decide. It is a decision that we have never regretted and we appreciate that 'stubborn Georgian' more and more as we are beginning to work with the GFG members.

2. What were your first impressions of the group?

DK/ULSI: - I was surprised at the comraderie - and the true friendships that were evident immediately. I remember walking into the lobby in L.A. feeling a bit out of place, and as I watched the members greet one another I saw heartfelt hugs and even a few tears and I was amazed how at ease this made me feel. So I walked up and introduced myself and the members made me feel 'right at home' from the very beginning.

3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?

DK/ULSI: - "I'm not $ure .... but I'll think of $omething!"

But seriously, we felt that this would give us the opportunity to immediately obtain a worldwide network of companies similar to ours that we could depend on to serve our clients with the same care and consideration that we have built our company upon.

4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?

DK/ULSI: - We have only given one other network any serious consideration and found them to seem very cold and calculating. There was not a feeling of trust and it seemed like everybody was out for themselves and their own profits. We feel just the opposite from most of the GFG members. It seems like our success is important to them.

5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?

DK/ULSI: - It has given us a true worldwide network of professionals that we know we can trust. This is essential in today's business climate where the large forwarders and 3PL's are offering a variety of services worldwide with consistancy in service and pricing.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

DK/ULSI: - Yes indeed.

7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?

DK/ULSI: - I would definitely recommend the GFG to other companies . There are so many selling points and advantages to being a GFG member - but I think that a few of the more important ones are:

1) The opportunity to build relationships that can go beyond the business at hand. If you travel, it is such a good feeling to know that in most corners of the world you have someone to rely on whether you need directions, translations or someone to recommend a good restaurant.

2) Insurance on receivables from members - One of the hardest things that a business such as ours has to endure is the fact that we sometimes send an invoice to an office 3 thousand miles away to someone that we have never met and hope that we get paid. The GFG takes all of the guesswork out of this. I only wish that I had met you all sooner !

3) And finally , there is an awful lot of money to be made in our industry. I truly believe that by having the support of a network such as the GFG drastically increases the opportunity to prosper.

ACSA Srl (Air Carry Service Agency)
GFG member since May 2005

 ACSA Logo

ACSA Srl is the GFG member for Argentina

ACSA Srl was recommended by the GFG's member for Spain, Airfarm

1. How did you first hear about the GFG?

ACSA: The first time we heard about the GFG was while we were having lunch with our friends of Airfarm. Emily and Santi spoke very well about all the agents working with the GFG, and that is what made us become so interested, and motivated us to apply for the group.-

2. What were your first impressions of the group?

ACSA: - Our first impression of the group was that it is very strong and solid. When we started to investigate about the GFG and the conditions to became part of it, we realized that the main idea of the group is to form a very strong union of agents, that, could be prove by the obligatory assistance to the annual conference.

3. What was your main motivation for joining the group?

ACSA: - Our main motivation to join the group is the fact of having reliable agents in all the world, that can take care of our shipments with the necessary "know-how" to compete with multinational agents. Our main activity has always been export. In the past we could not improve our imports because, at times, we could not find reliable agents and it was very difficult for us to compete with bigger companies that have their own offices in the other point of the operation.

4. There are many freight networks, what was different about the GFG that made you choose to join?

ACSA: - The main point that made us chose GFG instead of another freight network was the good recommendation of our partners of Airfarm. In the past we have also worked with Globe Cargo and they also proved to be very efficient and trustworthy. This two agents and their way of working were the factor that made us chose GFG. Another thing that made us choose GFG is the obligatory annual meeting, which we think is very important to keep close touch between partners, and is a big difference between GFG and other groups, this make GFG a really team.

5. How do you think your company has benefited from the GFG so far?

ACSA: - In this short time, we have confirmed shipments with several agents like: Airfarm, RH, ARI NYC, ARI MIA, U. de la Corona, Esse Emme, Cargo Forwarding, Vogel and International Freight, in all cases, we have received the best cooperation from them. I think this is a very good opportunity for us to "expand our business", that is why we will work harder and harder every day to generate new shipments.

6. Based on the activities that you have experienced so far within the group, such as business between members, membership services and assistance, information sharing, etc would you say that the membership fees offer value for money?

ACSA: - Yes, we think that membership fees are in excellent relation between benefits and costs. The fees are necessary to the proper functioning of the group. We have always received the best support from the group in all the doubts that we might have had.

7. Would you recommend the GFG to other companies? If so, what would the main selling point be in your view?

ACSA: - Yes, we would strongly recommend it to other companies. We think that the main selling point is the possibility of having a global net of agents, that allows the members to accept any job in any country because they will be well represented.

WE HAVE EXISTING VACANCIES FOR MEMBERS IN A NUMBER OF TERRITORIES. YOU CAN FIND OUT WHERE BY CLICKING ON THE MEMBERSHIP ENQUIRY LINK. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

The GFG: 21 years old and still learning...

Even after 21 years, and the fact that most of its founding members continue their membership, the GFG is not complacent.

The GFG is one of the world's original, exclusive networks.  The fact that one or two other groups now offer exclusivity proves we are doing it right and, since "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery", we thank them for their compliment!

W
ith so much competition, one must continue to develop, so we sought input from those who are the strength of the GFG - its members.

Here's one example of why our members value the GFG:

MAP Cargo, Colombia: "We value the GFG because it is a network of good friends doing business for mutual benefit."
